Whom to Call ?father? on Earth | Schaal Road Studio

Jesus, who told us not to call any one on this earth as our father, taught us about ?fatherhood? and whom to call father. He gave humanity a clear picture of an affectionate father. He brought the whole humanity, past, present and future into the embrace of the single Fatherhood. It was a new orientation in the spiritual life of humans who were till that time shown God as a frightening Omnipotence and an unreachable Identity.

Jesus describes Fatherhood

1) Who is the real father?

Who is our ?father?: the biological father on this earth or the heavenly father? ?Call no one your father on earth, for you have one Father?the one in heaven.? (Mt. 23: 9) Jesus assured the greatest love of God in so many ways through his parables and teachings. Jesus tells us that we should not call anybody father on the earth in the sense of the Almighty God. God created everything, takes care of everything and provides whatever is necessary.

2) Jesus taught us to call God ?Our Father?

The Lord?s Prayer is the best example for the new definition given to us about ?fatherhood? Ask your father for everything. He is ready to give. How many times he calls the ?heavenly father? and describes us affection and love towards us. He promises the ?Heavenly Father? knows what and when we should be given. ?Your heavenly Father knows that you need them all? (Mt. 6:32) ?How much more your heavenly Father will give good things to those who ask him!? (Mt. 7:11)

3) A father to have free talk

Jesus had free dialogs with his ?father? and he showed us that we also should be free to converse with him in the same filial spirit. Even when one goes against the will of God, reconciliation will enable to renew the father-child relationship. He narrates the mad affection of the ?prodigal father? through the parable of the ?prodigal son?. ?Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you? (Luke 15:21) How happy was the father to accept the reconciling child!

4) Establishment of universal brotherhood through ?the Father?

Jesus establishes the universal brotherhood through the ?heavenly Father?. Every human is connected in the universal brotherhood through the love of God ?the Father?. It is through this relationship that Stephen addresses the chief priest and others, ?Brothers and Fathers, listen to me? (Acts 7:2) It is the same spirit of love that makes Paul to address his listeners as brothers and fathers. ?Brothers and Fathers, listen to the defense that I now make before you? (Acts 22:1)

5) Always living with ?the heavenly Father?

Jesus was always aware of the ?heavenly Fatherhood? and he admonishes to be always watchful to carry out the will of heavenly Father. As a twelve year boy Jesus says, ?Do you not know that I must be in my Father?s house?? (Luke 2: 49) From birth till the last breath of his life Jesus was living with his father. His last words were, ?Father, into your hands I commend my spirit.? (Luke 23: 46)

Our biological fathers on this earth, who care for us, train us in discipline and settle us in life to continue our progeny on this earth. We have spiritual fathers and teachers. We are expected to respect them all. But we have only one heavenly father whom we must know, love and adore.

More than 79% of Americans feel ?the most significant family or social problem facing America is the physical absence of the father from the home.? Research shows that the lack of a father in the home correlates closely with crime, educational and emotional problems, teenage pregnancy, and drug and alcohol abuse. In an effort to show dads the critical role they play in their children?s lives, the Ad Council has partnered with the National Responsible Fatherhood Clearinghouse and volunteer ad agency Campbell-Ewald to create a new PSA campaign that communicates to fathers that their presence is essential to their children?s well-being. The campaign provides fathers with the information they need to become better dads.

Question by mcneill_35: Fatherhood.?
I have a friend who became a father. Him and his ex-girlfriend aren?t on speaking terms. He does want to be in his child?s life despite having difficulty getting along with his ex.

They know that they will not get married. What can he do to be in his child?s life despite the problems with his ex?

The first problem would be whether or not the mother wants to keep the child from him. If she does, and he really wants to be there, I?d go legal with it and petition for custody. If she wants him in the childs life, though, then they should be able to agree that their differences should be put aside for the sake of the child, and that?s just something they have to work out between themselves. I hope everything works out for your friend icon smile Whom to Call ?father? on Earth
