College Sports: San Jose State football: And so ends the Tate Forcier era (did it ever start?)

Just confirmed that Tate Forcier is done at San Jose State.

The former Michigan starter has withdrawn from school, according to a source close to the situation.

Academics played a role in the development, the source said.

Forcier arrived at SJSU, to much fanfare, last summer. He purportedly spent the fall working to get his grades in order.

Forcier was supposed to start for the SJSU next season.

Without him, the Spartans will choose from a group of unproven quarterbacks:

Dasmen Stewart, who played in four games in 2011, Blake Jurich, Joe Gray and recruit David Fales, who is transferring to SJSU from Monterey Peninsula College, according to Scout.

Fales originally signed with Nevada.

Check back for more on the Forcier developments.
